Community Supported Agriculture

Our subscription program, known as community supported agriculture (CSA), creates a relationship of mutual support and commitment between the farmer and the community. Your annual fee covers the production costs of the farm; in exchange you receive a share of the harvest. CSA programs help keep small farms like ours in business by giving us capital to cover some of the farm expenses we face early in the season. Community supported agriculture allows individuals and families to have direct access to high quality, fresh produce.

Our 2019 CSA Program

For the 2019 season, Farmhouse Organics will offer a “traditional” CSA and a “market share” CSA.

There are no more traditional CSA shares available at this point in the season.

Our 2019 traditional CSA runs from Tuesday June 4  through October 28 for a total of 22 weeks. Share size options are small $25/week, medium $30/week and large $40/week. You can choose from 4 pickup options, 2 in Poulsbo and 2 on Bainbridge Island. The amount you receive in your box each week is based on the size of your share. If you are out of town you can donate your veggies to the food bank or take a credit to be used later in the season.

Additionally, in order to facilitate our farm’s operation this year, Farmhouse Organics will offer an unlimited number of “market share” CSA memberships. The market share CSA will only be available for pick-up at the Bainbridge Island Farmer’s Market. Participants may pre-pay any amount of their choice (with a $500 minimum) to be applied for purchases during the Bainbridge Island Farmer’s Market season (April-November). You can purchase anything available, with no set weekly amount, and you can skip the weeks you choose. As a further incentive, participants in the “market share” CSA will receive a 5% discount on any purchases redeemed following your initial payment.

Please stop by the Bainbridge Island farmer’s market to purchase a market share card.

By subscribing to Farmhouse Organics CSA you will:

• Build a personal connection with your food, the land on which it was produced, and the farmers who planted and picked it.

• Enjoy delicious, nutritious produce grown without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides.

• Help maintain productive local farmland as open space.

• Know your food dollars support a local farm rather than pay for long-distance shipping, packaging, and refrigeration.

Our goal is to make our CSA a great experience for all of our members!
